Penev named Bulgaria's squad against Wales

Bulgaria coach Dimitar Penev named his 18-man squad Wednesday for the friendly match against Wales on Aug. 22 in Burgas. Manchester City striker Valeri Bojinov was left out of the squad, while CSKA Sofia midfielder Velizar Dimitrov returned to the team. Litex Lovech winger Ivelin Popov was selected for the first time.

Defenders:Valentin Iliev (CSKA Sofia), Stanislav Angelov (Energie Cottbus), Alexander Tunchev (CSKA Sofia), Radostin Kishishev (Leicester), Lucio Wagner (Levski Sofia), Igor Tomasic (Levski Sofia), Petar Zanev (Celta Vigo).
Midfielders:Stilian Petrov (Aston Villa), Velizar Dimitrov (CSKA Sofia), Chavdar Yankov (Hanover), Hristo Yovov (Levski Sofia), Dimitar Telkiyski (Levski Sofia).
