Only the last 16 leave for France for the VIIIth 1924 Olympics. The reason there were so many Levski players was the fact that just before the games the Bulgarian national team had to play a friendly in Sofia against Romkomit (Bucharest). Eventually, the Romanians have to play against Levski. The Bulgarian team wins by 2:0 in front of a crowd of 15000 - really a lot for its time. On their way to France, the Bulgarians stop in Wien for a friendly against Austria. The game was *not* a real match in modern sense but just a training session and finished 6:0 in favor of Austria. Paris, May 28, 1924: Coulomb Olympic Stadium. Bulgaria have their first international game against Ireland. The score is 0:1 - Bulgaria loose with the following team: P. Ivanov (goalkeeper), Al. Hristov, S. Jankov (defense), G. Mateev, B. Bjanov, Iv. Radoev (midfields), D. Mutafchiev, N. Mutafchiev, Tod. Vladimirov (cap.) K. Maznikov, K. Jovchev (forwards).
