(i) After 8 years, CSKA (Sofia) made a Bulgarian double as they won both the national Championship and the Cup. In the final match for the Bulgarian Cup CSKA won by 3:1 (1:0) against FC Levski. CSKA's playmaker Georgi Jordanov (on the right) played with the Levski jersey in the last Cup final between the two rivals 9 years ago. (ii) Each Botev (Plovdiv) player will get 350000 BGL (= 200 USD) if the Plovdiv team wins the last match in Sofia against FC Levski.

(i) The ex FC Levski (Sofia) and Lokomotiv (Sofia) player Dontcho Donev is looking for a transfer from his Turkish side Saraer. He will probably continue playing football in Turkey. (ii) Emil Kostadinov is very likely to join Krassimir Balakov in Stuttgart. (iii) Spartak (Varna) will represent Bulgaria in this year's UEFA Intertoto Cup.

Anatoli Tonov, Plamen Timnev and Milen Pentchev will no longer play for FC Levski (Sofia). However, Levski's key player Marian Hristov might not be sold to FCK after all. A South Korean giant might inject financial help into the team. Levski is very likely to play in next year's Cup Winner's Cup. One possible opponent is English Cup Winner Chelsea, whose fans celebrate (on the right) the 2nd FA Cup title. Emil Kostadinov is very likely to transfer to Schalke 04. Levski's rivals CSKA (Sofia) are linked with a possbile deal for (even) 5 foreign players. On June 5 or 6 the following friendly might be shown LIVE on RAI: Litex (Lovetch) - AC Milan.

The Brasilian Oliveira-Kaiser Fabino (on the right) is being tested by CSKA (Sofia) for a possible transfer from his german club Bayern Munich. However, the move is not very likely to happen. The 25 years old CSKA captain Anatoli Nankov is very likely to move to Zlatko Jankov's team Besiktas (Turkey).

The coach of the Bulgarian National team Hristo Bonev (the picture on the right) scored two goals in a veteran friendly between his ex-team Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) and the Greek neighbors from Alexandropolis. Loko (Plovdiv) lost 3:4.

It is still not clear if Marian Hristov (on the right) will be transfered from FC Levski (Sofia) to the German team FCK. The Bulgarian player says that he is very comfortable with his present team. At the same time, FC Levski (Sofia) are ready to pay 150000 DM for Marista (Plovdiv)'s Sasho Alexandrov, a regular in the Bulgaria's U21 team.

Hristo Stoitchkov gained his 23rd Cup trophy as Spanish giants FC Barcelona won 1:0 the Cup Winners Cup final against PSG with Stoitchkov being on the field for just six minutes. Stoitchov has lost only three finals in his career. For more details check Hristo Stoitchkov's Cup finals.

Hristo Stoitchkov (on the right) substituted injured Nadal in the 20th minute of the Barca-Real Madrid clash at Camp Nou. In the 10th minute Giovanni was also injured by Popescu was a better choice for Bobby Robson. Barca won 1:0 after a not very successful Ronaldo penalty. Ronaldo's penalty was better performed yesterday (May 14th) when Barcelona won the Cup Winner's Cup for the 4th time after winning the final against PSG by 1:0.

Mihail Jumerski (number 7 on the right picture) will joint CSKA (Sofia) from Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) for the sum of $100000. The Brasilian Oliveira will not probably join the new Bulgarian champions. The Bayern Munich player did not impress the management of the red team. Three Nigirean players: Godson, Imanue and Innocent are being tested by CSKA. The one who is most likely to join CSKA is Innocent.

Emil Kostadinov (on the right) is very likely to return to the club that owns him: FC Porto. According to BILD, CSKA Sofia's coach Georgi Vassilev will be the new coach of Hansa. Spartak (Varna) player Martin Zafirov will probably also join the German team. Spartak Varna's goalkeeper Radostin Stanev might transfer to CSKA, who already have three goalkeepers.

CSKA Sofia's player Georgi Jordanov (the picture on the right) will join Anorthosis from Cyprus.

FC Levski's forward Vladko Ivankov (the one on the front) has been injured. So is another Levski player, Ilian Simeonov. They will not be able to play against Dobrudzha (Dobritch) in the 27th round of the Bulgarian Championship. The picture is from the last round's derby CSKA - Levski 2:0.

After the derby CSKA - Levski 2:0, the referees had to be guarded by the police. CSKA got two penalties but Ivo Andonov missed the second one.

Jordan Marinov (on the right) from Lokomotiv (Sofia) is to sign a 2 year contract with FC Levski (Sofia). He will become the first ever player who has played for all four major Sofia teams: CSKA, Levski, Lokomotiv and Slavia. Marian Hristov, (n.p.a.) one of the stars of FC Levski is to join the German Bundesliga team FCK. The contract has not been signed yet.

Top 4 Bulgarian teams in the latest WFSHS monthly standings are: #148 Slavia (87 pts), #188 FC Levski (75 pts), #224 CSKA (65 pts) and #256 Lokomotiv (Sofia) (59.5 pts). World Leaders are Juventus (378 pts), Veles (278.5 pts) and Inter (274 pts). Hristo Stoitchkov's Barcelona shares the 4th and 5the place with Monaco (270 pts).

CSKA beaten 0:1 by Pirin (in green) for the Bulgarian Cup. After all, CSKA continues by winning 2:0 the second leg after extra time in Sofia. CSKA will face at the final Levski (Sofia). Levski is the national cup record holder. CSKA won the championship derby against FC Levski by 2:0.

Loko (Sofia) player Georgi Borisov (on the right) joins Levski (Sofia). The contract is for two years.
