Marian Hristov (the picture on the right) played his second match in the German Bundesliga for FCK. The ex-Levski player was substituted at the end of the second half as FCK lost at home 1:2 against Bayern Munchen in a high profile German Cup clash.

Spartak (Varna) (on the right) are the 5th Bulgarian football team to appear on the Internet. There is a link for all other teams (CSKA, Levski, Neftohimik and Pirin) from here.

CSKA (Sofia) won the 11th round derby against Lokomotiv (Sofia) by 2:1 (the picture on the right) and maintained their chances to regain the title. Bulgarian national coach Hristo Bonev lost his 5th match as a Loko Sofia trainer. Hristo Bonev declined the Brasil - Bulgaria friendly giving as an explanation the fact that he will not be able to gather enough regular players.

Slavia (Sofia) captain Stanimir Stoilov (the picture on the right) did his very best in the 11th round match against Olympic (Galata). (i) FC Levski 30 years old defender Valentin Dartilov (the picture on the right) will be tested at Servette (Switzerland). (ii) FC Levski fans entered for free Sector B of the National Stadium during yesterday's Round 11 clash with Litex (Lovetch). The match finished 1:1.

Bulgarian national player Krassimir Balakov was substitued after 52 minutes as Stuttgart lost 2:4 to Koln (the picture on the right). Balakov was injured rather seriously (torn mussle) and will not play for at least a couple of weeks. Balakov has been nominated (among 4 players) for the best player in the German Bundesliga for October.

Ivo Georgiev (the picture on the right) arrives today from Switzerland to join FC Levski. At most, he will be on the bench for the today's (Friday, October 24th) derby against CSKA (Sofia). Kick off is at 17.00 EET.

Hristo Stoitchkov did not play for Barcelona in Kiev. Barca lost by the humiliating 3:0 for the 7th time in their history. Dinamo Kiev is the 6th team to win by 3:0 - the other winners are Nice, Ipswich, PSV, Anderlecht and Goteborg. Stoitchkov might play only one match for Cruseiro in Tokyo (the intercontinental cup).

Although Bulgaria (the picture on the right is from USA'94) were bronze medalists in the last World Cup, they will not be a group leader during the next year's World Championship in France. The organizing comettee of FIFA has decided that the 9 group leaders will bve determined on the basis of the last two World Cups (not 3 as it should have been) and on the basis of the FIFA Coca Cola rankings. One group leader will be from Africa.

No matches were played last weekend (18-19 October) in Bulgaria. Some Slavia Sofia players were anyway sick :-) (flu). One of them is Tzvetanov (the picture on the right, the left one). The matches from the 10th Round will be played on Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25. The derby CSKA - Levski will be on Friday at 17.00 EET. Round 11 will take place on Wednesday 29. Only Levski - Litex will be played on Tuesday.
